David Cohen: Energy Healing, Push Hands & 4 Ounces Moves a Thousand Pounds
Mini-class: 11:40am-12pm
David will demonstrate techniques to move an opponent easily and energetically. He will discuss bone marrow breathing and how to make minor adjustments in the body structure in order to feel energy in yourself and others. David will also introduce Eastern techniques to de-stress, gain balance, relieve pain from injury and disease. This a great beginning for those who want to learn about energy healing and adding energy into a push hands practice.
Brief Bio: David is an eleven-year practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan. With 35 years total martial art experience. He is also a certified level 5 Fa Kung Energy Healer, personal trainer and Pilates instructor whose goal is to help people live healthy, happy lives by providing a variety of offerings, including private sessions, energy healing sessions, and group classes. Katherine Clayton (CMT): Craniosacral Therapy
Presentation: Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a form of bodywork that uses gentle touch to palpate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. Participants will be able to experience a mini craniosacral therapy session with Kathy. This therapy is lovely for reducing the charge of the sympathetic nervous system.
Brief Bio: Katherine’s journey with craniosacral therapy began fourteen years ago. After receiving CEU’s for re-certification, CST has become a life long passion for her.

Daniel Greenberg: Group Drumming
Mini-class: 11:40am-12pm
A former member of Woven Green, Daniel leads a Drumming Circle that meets Saturday mornings. He will present an intro as to how group drumming creates a vibrating field with the potential to heal and expand awareness. Diane Black, who presented the healing nature of crystals in last year’s Healing Garden, organized the drumming circle. Brief Bio: Daniel Greenberg has been a drum set player for 27 years, and a hand percussionist for 21. His experience in rock bands includes over 1,000 performances and venues like Nissan Pavilion and State Theater. As a hand percussionist Daniel has hosted 200+ drum circles in the Northern Virginia area since 2003, and is an active event organizer of the Herndon /Reston drum circle Meetup Group. He currently teaches drum lessons full-time in the Northern Virginia area, and hosts weekly drum circles. His passion is to bring people together and build community through drumming and fellowship.
Marfat Hussain: Rise Well-Being Center
Presentation: Marfat will be available to provide information about the Rise Well-Being Center, which is more than a studio for yoga or meditation. It is a place for attaining and maintaining balance, peace and well-being in our lives. In fact, it’s a brand new concept, the realized vision of its Founder and owner, Lisa Goodwin, who had the dream of creating a place of respite and renewal for busy Washingtonians who had little opportunity to interact with nature during their long work week.
Rise provides an indoor nature space for relaxing and learning to achieve wholeness through exploration of our whole-being. Lisa incorporated principals of company consciousness, and she found creative ways to implement them—beyond profit, which includes benefiting individuals, the community and beyond. Rise provides a special home away from home where you can use the library, meditate, bring your lunch and chill in the indoor garden area.
Brief Bio: In addition to having a day job, Marfat spends much of her time at the Rise Well-Being Center. Currently, she studies Biofield Tuning and is seeking certification in that modality. Marfat’s interest is in healing, and she looks forward to the time when she will be working with clients.
Paras Kaul: Neurofeedback Media
Presentation: Paras will be available to discuss her research using neurofeedback to animate digital objects and sound. She will discuss her experience working with scientists seeking methods for treating individuals experiencing symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). She will discuss her intention to create brain wave games and the potential that low frequency neurofeedback training has for rehabilitation.
Brief Bio: Paras Kaul is a brain wave artist researcher who composes brain wave music and animation. She experiments with brain-to-computer-interface technologies (BCI) for music and interactive gaming—intended to train the brain for learning and rehabilitation. Currently working at the Rise Well-Being Center in Reston, she has worked with brain to computer interfaces (BCIs) since 1992. Paras publishes peer-reviewed articles on brain wave learning and gaming and has been an invited speaker to France, Australia, and the UK—where she presented her brain wave gaming at the Dana Centre Museum of Science in London. In Virginia, she presents at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. She has been interviewed for Studio 360, With Good Reason Radio, Gamasutra’s Game Career Guide, GMU-TV, and Mason’s English Matters. Annie Larson: Reiki mini-class

Annie will be sharing her knowledge of Reiki healing in the healing garden. She was attuned to Reiki in 1997 and offers sessions and training in her Dulles, Virginia office.
Brief Bio Annie Larson, is a certified psychic medium who was featured in Posh Seven Magazine and a speaker at the Women’s Health and Wellness Summit. She is the co-founder of the Holistic Energy Expo and helped found the wellness center at Healing Crystals. Annie teaches yoga, meditation, Reiki, and mentors and certifies other mediums and psychics. She’s a certified astrologer with a bi-monthly horoscope column published in Posh Seven Magazine and several social media sites.

Maureen McCracken & Hiro Uyma: Healing Touch
Presentation: Healing Touch is a heart-centered energetic approach to healing using light or off-the-body touch which balances and harmonizes the human energy system in the direction of health and healing of depression, anxiety, pain, and also accelerating wound healing. Free sessions will be available. Participants will experience a brief explanation of a simple healing touch technique and will practice the technique on each other as they are willing and able! The practice is very easy and especially wonderful in a group! Hiro will join Maureen in the garden to provide opportunities for many attendees to experience this healing modality.
Brief Bio: Maureen, a RN, PMHCNS, BC, Healing Touch Certified Instructor and Practitioner, has been an energy healing practitioner and instructor since 1995, in addition to being a holistic psychotherapist since 1986. She graduated with a BSN and MSN from George Mason University. She has been teaching Healing Touch nationally and internationally and most recently at Childrens’ National Medical Center in Washington, D. C. She gives mini-workshops on healing vibrations and Healing Touch. Currently she has a private practice in Herndon. Her life as a Foreign Service child has given her a broad perspective on life and healing! She is the wife of Hiro Uyama, who assists her with classes, and she is the mother of Brian McCracken of Olympia, WA—a spoken word poet and youth counselor.
Glenn Smith: Music & Well-Being mini-class
Mini-class: 12:10-12:30pm
Dr. Smith will talk about the Music and Well-Being Minor and the Certificate Program in Music and Well-Being, both programs he created at George Mason University. He will introduce some of the instruments being used in the courses and in the GMU Healing Arts Ensemble, which he also started at the university. Brief Bio: With a Doctorate in Music (D. Mus.) from Indiana University, Dr. Smith composes music for healing and for applications of well-being. A certified Reiki Master Practitioner, he has a sound healing practice that employs well-being modalities including overtone singing, as well as theta-state meditation using quartz crystal, singing bowls. Smith has dedicated his life work to music composition, sound healing and teaching. In addition to being a composer of more than 500 works and performances in a wide variety of musical styles and genres, Smith has been a university professor since 1976 at George Mason University in the School of Music, where he founded the Music and Well-Being programs. He frequently gives lectures, seminars, and workshops on music and sound healing and has performed regularly at assisted living centers in the area. Chris Squires: Shoulder Massage
Presentation: Christopher Squires will be doing hands-on demonstrations of the Shoulder Massage technique he offers to clients.
Brief Bio: Chris, a Northern VA native, has been an avid student of martial arts for over 35 years and a student of internal arts for over 25 years. He has earned multiple instructor certificates and became a licensed massage therapist in 2004. He specializes in injury rehab, soft tissue pain, joint stabilization, postural issues, and personal empowerment through sharing powerful self-healing practices.
