This website presents a methodology for utilizing a mobile-size Brain-Computer-Interface (BCI) that uses neurofeedback to control audio and visuals in a Virtual Reality (VR) gaming environment. Open source software facilitates application development for interactive VR game worlds controlled by the user’s neural activity with the potential to alleviate symptoms of post-traumatic stress, autism, and attention deficit disorder.
A VR gaming experience that requires coherent, low frequency alpha and theta neural activity to achieve game goals has the potential to restore neural plasticity by increasing coherence between the right and left hemispheres of the brain, thus alleviating abnormalities in brain wave activity as analyzed by electroencephalography (EEG).
